As much as I love burning up the pavement with my fellow street riding friends, this weekend I’m headed off on a solo, “mental health” ride. Sometimes, after a rough week, a ride to explore the mountains is just what the doctor ordered.
The route will probably put me near the northern border of Yosemite, but really, the destination could be anywhere. This is the tentative route though…
The question is, do I take the CBR (street bike) or the KLX (dual sport?) Most of the miles are paved, but depending on my mental “flip-of-a-coin,” I could have numerous dirt trails to lose myself on…
Hopefully, regardless of the mount, I’ll have some pix of gorgeous scenery (or trout) to share when I return…

I say take the Kawi, and pack light this time. The ride isn’t that far, and like you said, you can keep your options open for paved or dirt.
Enjoy your day Paul, and I hope it brings you what you need most.
Ride safe,
Cindi
PS> Are going by the Evergreen lodge?? Love that place!
